About Us

Exhibit9's was established in 2003 to promote arts and artists in the Washington, DC area with a focus in contemporary Iranian art, but not limited to. In April 2019, E9 formed the group, SURGE by providing space for artists to work side by side on group projects or individual pieces. Everyone in the group had experienced a period of silence due to a disconnect from their roots. Through this group, they found their voice again and the energy level surged into a different level.

As the group shared their stories with the world, it was evident that their visual language did not belong to them anymore, but to every single woman, who struggled for her life and her rights in this troubled earth.
